Terms and Conditions of Tuition
1. Lessons
I will give tuition during term-time based on the Gloucestershire County Council School Terms and Holidays. I will give the lessons at the time and location agreed with the student (or the student's parent or carer).
2. Payment of Fees
The student (or the student's parent or carer) will pay the fees for each term in full within 14 days of the date of the invoice or the lessons will cease. Those students having private lessons at my studio also have the option to pay in cash on a weekly basis. In order for me to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a condition of lessons is that the student (or their parent or carer where the student is under the age of 18) shall complete a Personal Details Form. This allows me to hold data on the student and their parent or carer where appropriate and to use the Brightbooks Bookkeeping system.
3. Holidays
Before the first lesson of the term, I will give the student (or the student's parent or carer) notice of holiday breaks (when lessons will not be given) and the date of the final lesson of the term.
Lessons will not take place on public holidays unless by prior agreement.
4. Missed Lessons
During term-time I will charge for any scheduled lessons which the student does not attend, unless I choose not to do so where there are exceptional circumstances. If I am obliged to cancel a scheduled lesson, the student (or the student's parent or carer) may choose between (i) carrying the lesson forward; or (ii) receiving a replacement lesson.
5. Examinations, competitions and public performances
The student will not be entered for any examinations, competitions and public performances without the prior consent of both myself and the student and, where appropriate, the student's parent or carer.
6. Termination of tuition
Either the student (or the student's parent or carer) or I may terminate the tuition by giving the other at least half a term's notice.
If the student stops attending lessons without notice, the student (or the student's parent or carer) is not entitled to a refund of any fees paid for that term. The student is entitled to attend any lessons for which they have paid.
If I stop lessons without giving the correct notice, I shall refund any fees already paid for any lessons not given.
